"Woman with a Parasol", also known as "Madame Monet and Her Son", is one of Monet's most celebrated works of art, featuring Monet's wife, Camille, and their son, Jean, taking a stroll through tall grass on a beautiful sunny day. Ushering in the new age of Impressionism, "Woman with a Parasol" stands out due to its hastily sketched brushstrokes giving this painting a casual naturalness due to its completion in a single out with his family. Monet's style masterfully depicts a sense of animation in his paintings, and "Woman with a Parasol" brilliantly demonstrates this technique as if you can feel the gentle breeze brushing against Camille's flowing dress and tall grass. Favoring vibrant green and blues, "Woman with a Parasol" remains a hallmark of the Impressionist movement.
