Why is there a bird on the package?
Colombia has the world's most bird species and about 20% of the world's birds. Our coffee is grown in shaded, high-altitude areas where you can see birds while enjoying the stunning views. Birds are part of the coffee growing process - nibbling, digesting and planting more coffee trees.

At Level Ground our premium coffee has been intentionally crafted at every stage. It starts with a focus on sourcing. Great coffee is grown on small-scale, family-owned farms and sold through cooperatives that invest in their communities. We roast in small batches and blend to produce the most delicious cups of coffee. This is our craft. Each farmer we work with and everyone who brews Level Ground is also a crafter.
Ever since Level Ground started in 1997, supporting coffee farmers has been our number one priority. We are members of the Fair Trade Federation and we partner with Fairtrade Canada.
Every time you buy Fairtrade Level Ground Coffee, you are supporting 5,000+ small-scale farmers and their families. Coffee purchases also fund farmer co-operative community projects such as water sanitation and improved healthcare access.
